Candle Making Wax

Hello,

I recently purchased a large amount of bees wax and square braid cotton wicks. I plan on making many candles for myself and whomever and I am sure the natural scent of bees wax burning is pleasant enough on it’s on. However, I was looking into essential oils and comparing them to more ‘orthodox’ options concerning giving the bees wax a scent. I am generally concerned with the idea of adding mildly toxic substances to beeswax candles and I don’t wish to. I am trying to weigh all of the angles and I would love some input. I was imagining adding some normal house hold items, but I wouldn’t know where to start there. On the idea of scents, which are your favorites? Mine is likely some where in the vanilla range.

hello! i have no experience in candle making so i cant be sure, but ive heard that adding things like the purple part of a lavender plant into the candle smell great and give it a beautiful look. I think rose or other flower petals would also work beautifully! Hmm im wondering if it would work to add like crunched up gingerbread or something? maybe. now i really want to go make a candle i think i might try it! by the way, my favourite scents are japanese cherry blossom and peppermint! i hope this helps a little! :)
